On some documents the excerpt (highlight) on search results is not working

Why the excerpt doesn't appear on some documents in search result?

Answer

The problem is in the extracted text of the document. When there is a corruption in the extracted text it is not correctly indexed and then the HTMLExcerpt cannot be created. The best solution is to recreate the extracted text. This can be done with Jahia Tools --> Document text extraction tool. You can check all documents if there is an extracted text and you can redo the text extraction for files which have a problem. After that, the excerpt should appear as expected.

NOTE: the text extraction will update the last modification date of the file, which also appears in the search result.
