How can you ensure a smooth Go-Live with Jahia Cloud?

After weeks of development, you're finally ready to take your project live on Jahia Cloud! To ensure everything goes smoothly, here are the key steps we recommend:

  • Inform the Jahia Team in Advance

Notify the Jahia team about your planned go-live date as early as possible. This allows us to provide any necessary support and ensure a seamless transition.

  • Prepare Emergency Contacts and Backup Plans

Ensure all emergency contact information is complete and up-to-date.
Specify your backup policy in case something goes wrong. You can update this information in the first ticket on your support space.

  • Enable and Verify Backups

Confirm that daily backups are configured and operational in your Jahia Cloud environment. This ensures that your data is safe and recoverable if needed.

  • Configure Certificates and Domains

Import your SSL/TLS certificates and configure your custom domain(s) in Jahia Cloud. Verify that everything is set up correctly before going live.

  • Only applicable if WAF has been configured—check for false positives.

Review the WAF logs to assess whether legitimate requests have been inadvertently blocked. False positives can occur, so it's best to examine blocked requests before going live.

  • Choose the Right Day to Go Live

We strongly recommend going live on a Monday. This provides you with a full workweek to monitor the system, resolve any potential issues.

  • Before updating your DNS, you can test your site locally by overriding DNS with your host file:
  1. Edit the Host File:

    • Windows: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
    • Mac/Linux: /etc/hosts
Add an entry pointing your domain to the Jahia Cloud IP:

    192.x.x.x www.yourdomain.com

  2. Flush DNS Cache:

    • Windows: ipconfig /flushdns
    • Mac/Linux: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache
  3. Test Your Domain:
Access your domain in the browser to verify functionality. Once testing is complete, remove the entry from your host file to restore normal DNS.

By following these steps, you'll set yourself up for a successful launch with Jahia Cloud. If you need any assistance, our support team is here to help!
