- Absolute area
- An absolute area is a unique placeholder displayed in multiple pages, once filled, the content placed in this area will be displayed everywhere this absolute area is called.
- Area
- An area is a placeholder defined in a template, that can be filled with components / content at template level or in pages using those templates.
- Component
- A component is the representation of a content type that can be manipulated through drag and drop by authors in edit mode. In other systems it can be called a widget.
- Engine
- An engine is a UI generated automatically by Jahia to edit content, based on its definition.
- Module
- A module is a package to extend the jahia platform. Modules are .war files until Jahia 6.6.x and .jar files starting with DX 7.0
- Manager
- A manager is a dedicated tool to manage nodes in a tree view.Managers shows, in fact, a lmited view of the JCR repository limited to a sub-set of content types or functionnalities (documents, content, pages, categories...) .
